Beauty Review: Avon Anew Platinum Night Cream

written by Tamara Styer

UPON STAYING A FEW days with my parents recently, I found myself raiding my mom's beauty stash. She always has lotions and creams and homemade lip treatments to snag and slather, and before I knew it I was smoothing on a dollop of Avon Anew Platinum Night Cream.

It feels super creamy, and sinks in like a face oil. My face and neck felt instantly smooth and moisturized, and I felt an immediate tightening after it absorbed. My sensitive skin felt a mild tingling in dry areas, but the tightening and plumping was visible right away.

This beigy-white cream has a strong perfume smell - and not in the most desirable way - which I think could definitely be nixed. I tend to prefer anything that goes on my face to have a mild, clean scent, otherwise it makes me feel like the tingling sensation is from perfume and not from an awesome skin-plumping, line-smoothing concoction of ingredients.

But this bargain-buy does deliver good results.

At just $38, this product promises to contour and lift, plump and soften, tighten the jawline and dramatically reduce wrinkles. And unlike some more expensive creams, this deep-violet beauty contains 1.7 oz of skin-tightening goodness.

It should be said that this night cream is designed for women in their sixties. But to me, a good cream is a good cream, and I'm all about preventative product-whoring. Besides, I want all those blessed virtues for my skin, too! I want a smooth texture and even skin tone. I want the lineless, plumped-up, lifted cheekbones and sculpted jawline of a Disney queen. So why discriminate? Avon Anew Platinum Night Cream is for 30+ platinum blondes, too!   DM

  1. I have been looking for different face creams and I heard that Avon was a good brand to get. That is great that their cream was super soft and smooth. That is awesome that you felt something almost immediately after applying it. That is a good sign. I will have to try it out! Thanks for the information!
